- A publication titled “The Final Countdown” published by Greenpeace (September 19, 2018)
- Greenpeace made a list of allegations against Korindo in the publication:
-
- Land clearing from 2013 to 2016 that reached 30,000 ha and land clearing by deliberate burning. Both allegations were quoted from the Aidenvironment investigation report.
- A moratorium violation in PT Papua Agro Lestari (PAL)’s concession, whose management was still a part of Korindo Group’s subsidiaries at that time.
- Showing inconsistency in NDPE (No Deforestation, Peat, and Exploitation) policy implementation by announcing forest clearance for the residents to utilize and developing potential peatland areas.
- Korindo has clarified the allegations regarding land clearing and burning that Greenpeace quoted from the Aidenvironment publication. The clarification can be seen further in Korindo’s grievance list title “Mighty Earth’s Campaign: Burning Paradise”.
- On February 21, 2017, Korindo announced the temporary moratorium reinstatement on PT Papua Agro Lestari (PAL) based on the concerns of the stakeholders that the HCV/HCS assessment has not yet gone through peer review and quality panel review. The clarification can be seen further in Korindo’s grievance list titled “Mighty Earth Campaign: Satellite Data Shows Korindo Violated Deforestation Moratorium” and “Article by Eco-Business: Korindo has Violated Deforestation Ban, NGO Reveals“.
- Korindo has never carried out deliberate burning as alleged.
- Korindo continues to adhere to the moratorium to present time since 2017.
- Korindo maintains its commitment to the NDPE policy while running its business.
