- An article titled “Korindo has violated deforestation ban, NGO reveals” published by Eco-Business (16 February 2017)
- On February 15, 2017, Mighty Earth claimed that PT Papua Agro Lestari (PAL), which was one of Korindo Group’s subsidiaries at that time, still carried out land clearing despite a moratorium announcement for their concession back in 2016.
- On December 1, 2016, Korindo announced the temporary moratorium on new land development for PT Papua Agro Lestari (PAL) concession while waiting for the finalization of the HCV (High Conservation Value)/HCS (High Carbon Stock) assessment since the assessment result will be taken into consideration for future land development.
- On January 2, 2017, the result of Korindo’s HCV/HCS self-assessment done by BIOREF (the Research Center of Biodiversity and Tropical Forest Rehabilitation) from the IPB University was published on PT Papua Agro Lestari (PAL)’s official website. Based on the result of the self-assessment, Korindo lifted the moratorium on PT Papua Agro Lestari (PAL) and maintains to uphold the commitment to preserve conservation areas.
- On February 21, 2017, Korindo reinstated the temporary moratorium based on concerns expressed by some stakeholders that the HCV/HCS assessment has not yet gone through the peer review and the quality panel review.
- Korindo has maintained the implementation of the moratorium since February 2017 until now.
