Characteristics of Production Process

So far, the raw materials for the production have relied almost entirely on the imported waste paper. Since 2000, however, we have collected about 10% of the total waste paper from the local area to increase the domestic recycling rate and help the local people level up their social awareness on the importance of resources.

The paper production industry is regarded as a source of pollution because it uses a large amount of water and drains the equivalent amount, and we have adopted a thorough waste treatment policy since we had started business in 1985. As a result, our factory was designated as an exemplary factory in 1996 by Indonesian government and UN environment organization (UNEP) and became a model for other factories. In 1997, we were cited in the case study as a business that practiced 'Cleaner Production', and the neighborhood factories, government offices, and citizens frequently visit us to see our factory.
