or three times a day, not experiencing monsoon. In
rainy season, fruits are produced in abundance
and the days get longer, while in
the dry season, temperature drops early in the morning and
late in the evening. Regardless

is exchangeable at banks, hotels and money
changer into local currency. No restriction is
in imposed on receipt, remittance and transfer
of foreign currency, however, a 0.5 percent
handling charge is exempted in case dollars
are drawn down in Indonesia, and the same
is applied to traveler's check. However,
in case the paper notes of dollar is scrabbled
or torn down even a little, the notes are
not accepted. |

It
is fairly difficult to use the public phone
except at hotels, department stores, supermarkets,
and airports, and the telephone lines at
the offices and households are often in
disorder, however, international telecommunication
services are well arranged for fairly high
rates. Tip) Card phone services are available
at high-class hotels. At many places in the city
a place with signboard 'WARTEL', where the
telecommunication services are easily available
at cheaper rate, with operators billing
for the call after completing it. In fact
telephone cards are available at everywhere
in the cities, however, it is not so easy
to purchase them and is complicated, so it
is recommended to use WARTEL if possible.
One unit of city call is for three minutes
times 100 Rupiah. |

Immigration
Visa
- Tourists are allowed to stay without visa for two
months, in which case the validity of the passport
shall remain for six months and return ticket shall
be accompanied.
- For visitors and those traveling on commercial purpose
shall be issued the stay permit for two months by
overseas Indonesian diplomatic representatives, which
can be extended for another two months two times (stay
for a maximum of six months are allowed.)

Foodstuffs
Main
foods
- Nasi (rice) is the staple of the Indonesian diet. It's eaten with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and as a snack.
- Variety of breads is available from hotels, supermarkets,
and bakeries.
Edible
water
-Tap water and spring waters are available, however,
it is recommended to boil the waters to drink.
-Mineral waters (AQUA, OASIS) are available from supermarkets,
which is widely used for cooking, drinking, and ice-making.
Restaurants
-RESTORAN, RUMAH MAKAN, WARUNG are the places where
rice is available.
Recently, there exists no clear distinction between
Restaurant and Rumah Makan, however, traditionally
restaurant has been referred to those in hotel and
the big restaurant on the street, whereas Rumah Makan
means the small scale restaurant. Warung is
a place for snacks.
